Like a lot of hobbyists I do not use an incubator. I did have one for a season and found the results were not as good as what was produced in previous years so I went back to what I have always done- hatchrite substrate, ensuring they stay mosit but not wet and leaving the eggs alone.
Once the hatchlings have comeĀ out they get transferred into their own Braplast tub for at least a month or until I can see a significant gain in their weight.
I keep babies until they are 5g and then they are either sold or transferred into their own tank because it takes quite a while to be sure of what colours are going to come through.
By the time they are 10g you can usually tell the sex of the gecko although some people are confident they can tell at lower weights. The juveniles are normally kept at this weight and grown ready to join the adults at some point or will be sold on. The ones above there is very little chance of sexing.
This particular baby is called Tigger who is still growing happily in their tank. Their clutchmate DeeDee is being grown by PrimalCresties.
